The Visiting Teaching Movie
For those of you who couldn't make it to last night's Visiting Teaching In-Service, here is a link to a video we watched. I would like to say "thank you so much" to Phebe for her hard work and also give a big thank you to all the sisters who were able to take the time out of their busy lives to be there. It was a very informative and fun evening.

October Friendship-er
The Friendship-er
October 2010
As we enter October and the Thanksgiving season, it feels appropriate to touch on the topic of gratitude. Even though we have trials in our lives, we all have so much to be grateful for. I am not thinking of all the material things we enjoy, but also of the more important spiritual gifts. Having the Gospel in our lives can bring us peace when all around us is chaos. Modern communications bring to us, at an ever growing speed, stories of violence and misery. We can find peace and spiritual renewal in our homes, church meetings and by attending the Holy Temple.
President Faust said, "One of the evils of our time is taking for granted so many of the things we enjoy." The Lord spoke of this in D&C 88:33 "For what doth it profit a man if a gift is bestowed upon him, and he receive not the gift."
May we all have thankful hearts which open our eyes to the many blessings that continually surround us. President J. Reuben Clark said, "Hold fast to the blessings which God has provided for you. Yours is not the task to gain them, they are here, yours is the part of cherishing them."
I pray that our trials may not blind us to the many blessings we have, that we be always grateful and express that gratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving
With love and gratitude for you all,
Sister Kathleen Creaser

October Visiting Teaching Message:
This month's special issue on temples does not contain a specific First Presidency Message or Visiting Teaching Message. As with conference issues of the magazine, home and visiting teachers should prayerfully select their message from the contents of this magazine. The article by President Thomas S. Monson could be a good choice for many families, although other articles may be appropriate as well.
Scripture Study: Wednesday at Sister Tyskerud's from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (250-334-8580 to confirm)
Spiritual Thought- The phrase "Wickedness never was happiness" was repeated by three different speakers during the latest general conference . . . and I am told it was also used in the priesthood session at least once too.
